Aggie The Highland Coo Sweater : Knit Kit Designed by Sylvia Watts-Cherry
The inspiration for the sweater is the breed of cattle synonymous with Scotland, originating from the Highlands and the Outer Hebrides islands. The stylised image is designed to show the gentle, friendly nature of the breed.
The sweater has positive ease with a modified drop shoulder construction. It is knitted flat with the front, back and sleeve pieces worked separately from the rib edge to the top. The front piece is knitted using the intarsia colourwork technique and is worked by following a chart for the image. The neckband is worked directly in the round by picking up stitches from the neck edge after the shoulder seams are sewn together. Throughout the pattern, slip all stitches purlwise with yarn held to the wrong side of the work.
